The Robert Hamilton Memorial Fountain

Lord -Lieutenant Gilbert Cox unveils the Memorial Fountain

This signature project was the first carried out by the group in 2007, the fountain was removed from the park in the 1970’s.

The group located the fountain in a derelict state within Summerlee Heritage Museum. The fountain was about to be broken up and discarded due to the planned refurbishment.

With the help of NLC it was rescued and put in storage whilst efforts were made to gain funding. The volunteers acquired funding from the Heritage Lottery fund.

The group were responsible for overseeing the work, and organised a special Christmas unveiling of this wonderful monument.
